Default shackle flip

I am doing a shackle flip on my 98 1500. That already has 3" in front and a 3/4" zero add a leaf in the rear . I am also putting axles and springs from a 2000 offroad ediotion. I am wondering with the shackle flip if I could flip the springs and stretch the wheelbase by like it like 2-3". Or will that make it ride totally diffrent. I was going to remove the overload and add 1 more leaf to the pack

the centering pin is offset 4". If i do a shackle flip it will move the axle 1.5" forward if I do the shackle flip at the back and turn the springs around so the centering pin is now 4" backwards. I would stretch the wheel base.

why would you want to stretch the wheel base?

Better departure angle.

Trouble is, when your suspension compresses, would you be stuffing the tires into the backs of the wheel openings??

exactly which means hellhave to cut into the bed to make room for his tires at full compression. and if your gonna do that much work the just shorten the bed behind the tire and shortn the frame forks behind the shackle mounts, ive seen it done to a ford and afterwards you could barely tell because the guy cleaned it up damn good
