Default 2500 coilsprings on 1500

I have a 99 dodge ram 1500 4x4 and was wanting to lift it 3". I've heard of 2500 front coil springs would achieve that. Would 2500 4x4 and 2wds give me same amount or are they different. Would I want to put a 1" block in rear to level it out? Thanks

Ok thanks for the info. Is there any other cheap ways to lift it few inches? Are those spacers that go on top of spring pretty good?

I have a pair of 2" hell bent steel spacers on the front of my 2500, no issues or complaints.

I think one thing to consider is whether or not the 2500 was diesel. There have been several post's on using 2500 springs in a 1500. I believe 2500 springs from a diesel will give a much stiffer ride.

At least that's what I've read.

Yep, get a bit more lift out of 'em too.... Of course, it makes your truck ride like... well... a Truck......

I can't speak for the OP but I'm happy with my truck riding like a truck. I prefer it to my wife's Buick Century. My knees hurt a lot less

Would 3500 coils work also or are they different? I think all trucks should ride like a truck...If it rides like a caddy it shouldnt be a truck. lol

When I first drove the late 80's early 90's chevy 4x4's, I was STUNNED at how nice the rode....

Not sure there is much different between 2500, and 3500 coils....
