Default Dome light issues

Hello to all, Need some help with this dome light problem in order to turn off my dome light I need to dim my instrument cluster lights almost completely off, not good for night driving. The dimmer /on-off switch seems to get hot almost to the touch. could my door plunger be shot ? I do have a water leak on that side . Much thanks for any and all the help.
Also need overhead console light switches they are both busted one wont click on one wont click off push button springs shot. Had to disconnect the bulbs.

Take out the headlight switch, and check the wires behind it. Make sure nothing has melted together back there.

If that's all right, replace the door jamb switches.
