Remove the check valve. (look in the FAQ section)

Don't tow anything in OD.
Im not like freaking out about it I just wanted to double check. Yes my truck has the heavy duty towing package, I requested the build sheet when I bought the truck. I know the previous owner towed a 5th wheel. Usually I don't haul anything that heavy (1000lb loads to the scrapyard each week), but occasionally I tow my father 7000lb boat (22ft grady). I know not to tow in overdrive. Like I said I just wanted to double check to make sure i dont wanna screw anything up when im just trying to keep things running good lol

Alright thanks for the help. Sorry to be a bit ****. I'm young and new at this stuff and I dont have a lot of money to be putting a trans in this truck. My dad doesnt really know much about this kinda stuff and my grandfather used to be a pretty good mechanic but his minds no good anymore.

I forgot to ask, I know the manual calls for the bolts to be torqued to 13 lb ft. I didnt have a torque wrench with me (didnt do the service at my house), so I just got them snug with a rachet. I did go across the pan with each bolt to get it down evenly. Is it ok to not use a torque wrench?

I havent had any leakage yet so if it doesnt leak I suppose I will just leave it as it is. If its torqued more than 13 lbs I dont want to have to be loosening some and tightening others. i know they are all evenly snugged because Ive had no leaks

I've been crawling under my rig and checking for any fluid leakage since I did my pan drop/refill - no problems so far. KNOCK ON WOOD

Did you use a tq wrench? I just used a flex head 3/8 rachet to tighten them. Because its a longer handle I made sure not to really tug on the wrench, just got them snug

Yes I did use a torque wrench. My father in law has a wide variety of tools so I usually don't have to buy or rent any tools.

But he's also loosing his mind, he has the tools and the know how, but sometimes not the mental/physical ability. So I get most of this stuff by myself now, which is good and bad.

I'd almost be worried more about over torque than under torque.. go ahead and strip those threads.. see the sheer volume of fun that ensues..

If you're short a torque wrench, you need to know that 13# isn't that much.. at all.. snug them up.. turn them just a little past snug, and leave them alone.. watch it over next couple days.. realize, heated metal expands, cool contracts.. heat will have something to do with the torque on those bolts.
