Wonder if there is a geometry problem there, that only shows up with mileage.... or harmonics, or any of a number of other possibilities......

For pics, upload them to someplace like photobucket, or imageshack, then use the "image" tags (that most photo hosting places will provide the code for) to imbed them in your post. MUCH easier than trying to simply attach them to a post. Ya just don't get a lot of space for that here.

I just shared what two guys said..like I said , I'd hate to think there is a defect in the castings. I've heard that V10s fire two pistons at a time..this sounds weird..but ...I just fixed my issue and am sharing data..
Harmonics, possibly. I do hear harmonic variances from time to time and..I spun the harmonic balancer last year before the bolt/pedestal broke. Had it replaced..$450..

I think the one guy was blowing smoke.

It would be interesting to collect data on the issue, and see if any patterns show up..... It may be 'just one of those things' that the engineers look at after the fact, and say: "oh, so THAT'S why that happens....." Wouldn't be the first time design flaws have taken some time to show up.

But then, the manufacturer only cares that it lasts a bit longer than the warranty.

Sounds like a manufacturing defect of some sort. Never heard of it happening on a 5.9 tho. Probably has to someone somewhere and sometime.
