As I was replacing the radiator, trans cooler, serpatine belt ect.. the cable came out of the hood latch. Well I thought i had put it back in properly. As I was test driving it after all of this the hood poped open so after buying more coolant from the auto parts store and adding it in. the hood wasnt catching when I went to close it. So I got pissed slammed it and the hood closed fine. Problem is I guess the cable came out because now it wont release. F%CK!!!!!!!!! What do I do now? pop out the grill and some how pop it open?

 

lay on your back, and peak up from underneath. You might be able to simply reach up in there, and release it.

 

You can also try pushing down on the hood, while someone else pulls the release handle inside the truck.

 

i poped the grill out on both sides and was able to get a gear wrench on the bolts for the latch and i unscrewed it. The problem is the latch was f ed up. By me slamming the hood the latch didn't open so it bent everything to ****! Now I just got to get a new latch.

yeah basically. I pulled a new latch from the junk yard and hooked the cable up and all but the problem is that the hood if you close it hard will engage the latch but if u pull up on the grill the latch lets go and then u just press the button and pop the hood open. I cant figure out why this is releasing. I just cant figure out whats going on. I'm going to look at the old latch tomorrow and see whats up. Any ideas
