Default exterior paint issues?

Truck is bright white...I noticed there are VERY VERY TINY rust SPECS on her...many but very small..service only....Does anyone Know What I can use to EASILY remove this before it becomes a problem?? I was thinking maybe some clearcoat compound...unless there is some sort of spray and wipe stuff out there....Thanks for any input ...BILL

Where are the rust specs at on your truck? My truck is a 95 and is starting to rust in the rear wheel wells. I just pulled the tailights out and oiled the backside of the wheel wells to prevent it from getting worse for now. If its just surface rust then you could probably use something like por 15 or rusteater.

NO rust by the wheel wells or rockers at all.. the tiny rust dots (hardley Noticible) are on the body itself lower half from body side molding down and some on the side of the bed of the truck itself ...BILL

are you sure its rust and not like tar specs or something. I would try a good polishing compound but becareful you do it right and dont wreck your paint.

Try using a light rubbing compound in 1 small spot.If it doesnt come off and it is rust i hate to say it but it may need to be repainted.Or if you wanna try this you can take a razor blade and tape off the sides leaving a small area open and lay it flat and see if it can come off like that without digging into the paint sometimes that may pop off whatever it is if it isnt rust.
thanks

I've got a white 2001. It seems like the paint is pretty thin. I took it to one of those wash it yourself places last winter just to rinse the salt off. At a distance of 8" using the high pressure rinse setting, I blew a big section of paint off the rear bumper and about a 3" square part of the white paint on the rear just to right of the bumper. I've since had both bumpers painted black and sprayed touch up over the used to be white painted area. Fortunately the white area is in a spot not noticable. Some of the brushless carwashes use abrasives mixed with the water to obtain a cleaner car. They recover the water and abrasive and use it again. Do you run your truck through brushleass washes?

Get a clay bar....wet the truck and start rubbing on it! Be careful to keep it good and wet so the bar will slide, the rust marks should come off......

It could be from stone chips. Stop by the dealer and get some touch up paint. Sand the areas, clean them with either acetone or denatured alcohol to get rid of any dirt/dust/finger grease, apply touch up paint. After that dries, apply some clear coat and wax.
