Default Performance Cap and rotor?

Is there one. Hell, is it even a reality?

I think mine is going out, it will randomly bog, pop, jump idle, misfire? Its really random, will be fine, then will be ****ty. I ran it from Ohio to WV yesterday and it happened once when I started it up and one crusing down the HWY. I got out and checked the plugs and wires, wires kinda loose(?) will I pushed them all down and it was fine. Started it up to day and it was all crap.

Not firing right is my guess. I have a new wire set I'm going to trow on today, wonder if that will fix it. If not cap and rotor is my next guess. Certain one I should buy? I live 10mins from Summit Racing. Lucky me.

Bad vacuum a possibility?

Have you fixed your plenum yet?

Just get a good quality cap/rotor with brass terminals. Accel makes a decent one.

Replace the cap and rotor while you are doing the wires. Don't wanna have to crawl in there twice.....

Prolly the summit cap would be just fine.

If you don't have a significantly upgraded ignition system you don't need to get fancy with the cap and rotor -- any good quality, brass terminals setup will do.

Do your symptoms come on a minute or two after cold start, then go away until you're cruising for a while with the engine just loafing? And then go away if you encounter a hill that makes it work a bit harder? If this is what's happening, look at that upstream oxygen sensor.

I bought that first one when I did my tune up. That was 2 years ago and it is still running fine.

Are your plug wires routed correctly? Seems these trucks are pretty particular, and from what I have been reading, 8 or 8.5mm wires are best.

Well, I put new wires and a new and and rotor on it. Started it up, ran fine. Took off and it started fouling out and poping/bogging again. Put it in Natural revved it out a few time and then it was fine, it got me to work today.

I'm kinda lost right now? Oxygen sensor may be bad? Up stream oxygen sensor? It that the one closets or furthest away from the engine?
