Persistant Misfire
Thanks to everyone for their ideas and thoughts. I finally figured out my problem after much head scratching and throwing my son-of-a-bitch wrench all over my shop. Last nite I shut off all my lights and ran the engine. Every plug wire was shorting out in multiple places. It looked like the 4th of July under my hood. These wires are less than a month old as well as the plugs. So after a new set of wires and switch back to copper plugs she's running like a scalded cat. Thanks again for all the help and it's good to finally see her back on the road.
Aim, not to hijack this thread, but what plugs work best for you? Modified intake and alum plate (not installed yet), bought cap, rotor, and wires, but still undecided on plugs.
Back OT, from what I have read here, relpacing plenum with aluminum plate is sound investment on 2nd gen Rams.

I have not had good luck with any of the exotic metal plugs, platinum, iridium, uranium, adamantium, unobtainium etc.
I honestly don't like any of the standard replacement wires they sell at the parts stores. Our ignition systems are too prone to crossfire as is, no need to increase the potential with a thin, flimsy wire.
Buy a good set of taylor, magnecor, MSD, or even mopar performance wires.

Folks,
The plug wires I purchased in June are Omni Spark, part number 9404 manufactured by Ozark Automotive in Springfield, MO 65802. They are going to hear from me as a very disgruntled customer. Due to these wires shorting out, I spent around $600 on diagnostic test and replacing things of which both the tests and parts were not needed. The other interesting aspect is none of the fancy diagnostics equipment from a Dodge dealer and different repair shop never detected the plug wires were shorting out. Well I've always said experience is what you get when you were looking for something else. Never crossed my mind a new set of wires could cause so much aggravating head scratching. But new experience is new knowledge.

good info to have...
it may be a good thing to create a thread of do's and don'ts from member experiences over in the faq section..
in addition to the Omni wires- add autolite and accel as well.. They actually have a TSB out about them, they are so poor.

Mine is doin the same thing but on cylinder 7 under a load in overdrive. My compression is at 150 and fuel pressure is at 50 psi. I changed plugs wires cap rotor fuel injector coil. Checked the cat and o2 sensor. Ohmed the injector wire to the computer and also the injector itself. Even did a voltage test. Is there anything else i can look for.
