Persistant Misfire

I put a coil on it the other day and it still did it right after. But now a day later its not doing it but its also a little cooler out

And would it take a drive cycle for the computer to fix the problem

Depends on what the original problem was. You could try just resetting the computer... (disconnect the battery for a few minutes) and see if that doesn't improve it's attitude any.

You can take a low pressure psi gage and get a few fittings from a hardware store and a spark plug nonfouler. 14mm and start the engine and it shouldnt read more than half a pound if it does the cat is bad.

I unpluged the coolant temp sensor wich puts the computer into base time. Then i took my scanner and read the ignition adv. ° and it was around 27° so i turned the distributor till it was 8 to 10° adv. Thats it. Just had me thinkin how it got so advanced

the dizzy doesnt control timing, it controls fuel sync, you just messed up you fuel sync terribly.....
