Ruptured fuel line

The line is a little less than 10ft long and it's 5/16th inch tubing if someone is wanting to make it themselves. I just got a 25ft coil of the tubing and cut it to length. Then I crimped the connections to connect it to the front fuel line and I used fuel hose to attach it to the fuel pump assembly.
Now, with the new pump assembly (why they don't give you any other fuel filter besides the one on the pump is beyond me) and new fuel line, my truck feels like a totally different animal. My fuel trims are now back to normal as well.

Mine had a paper style filter on the bottom of the fuel pump assembly (kinda looks like a round carb filter). Pulling it all apart, the screen on the bottom of the fuel pump had some debris on it.
I couldn't find anything on a replacement filter for the fuel pump assembly. For the price of the regulator ($90-100) and whatever the other filter would be, I would rather replace the whole fuel pump assembly ($150). The truck has 160k miles on it, so I'm sure it didn't hurt

I'm replacing mine tomorrow. I'll be making my own though. I have a hydraulic flare tool that can make the disconnect fitting going to the flexible steel line. The pump end may end up just getting a fuel hose and some clamps. I'm doing the pump assembly as well on my v10. Stupid fuel filter design.
Got insurance?

ok guys. dealer FINALLY got my fuel line in so i went and picked it up. on the side that connects to the pump, it always has a new fitting on it.
i should be able to disconnect the fitting on the pump by hands and connect the new fitting, right?
the other side is just metal that goes all the way to the braided line near the firewall. is that the side i need the special toool?
the line is 5/16ths, does the tool have different sizes? if so what size do i get?
thanks in advance guys!
