Sure is. It's a beast. For a bumper-mount job it's very sturdy. I stand on it all the time (and I'm husky) when adding copious amounts of oil to the engine as I often have to do.

If you are adding lucas to a 15W-40 oil, yeah that will happen. Our trucks were meant for 10W30 or 5W30 (5.2).
I'm aware it's not the correct oil. Putting 10w30 in this engine is like putting water in a strainer, it comes right out (the tailpipe). That's why I tried the thicker oil. Not much changed, so I, admittedly without knowing it's consistency or without using it before, put the Lucas in.

My 1996 5.2L calls for 10w30, as did my 1999 and 2001 5.2s. That's what I run. I know sometimes manufacturers change the requirements, has anything like that happened with these trucks? Not being a smartass, just wondering.
