Which tire size is correct?

at some time I had 285/60/18 in my truck, little slower in uphills but thats all the problem,

265's are your best bet imo. Will give you the best ground clearance and look without sacrificing power due to (presumably) 3.55 gearing. Either tire size will work fine, though. About the biggest you could fit at stock height is 285, but those might rub (im sure someone here can say for sure) and will probably have you wanting steeper gearing.

Edit: You have a 2wd, 285s would be too big.
Just FYI, I have gotten as big as a 305/70 (I worked at a tire shop and loved to experiment) under a stock 1500 4x4 with only very mild rubbing at full lock. I currently run 285/75/16 with no trouble at all

Yeah i wasn't sure. I have 285/75/16 BFG All terrains on mine right now but i also have a 2 inch leveling kit. I had 305 Micky thompson baja something or other on here at one time without issue, but i swear those things were no bigger than my bfg's, think it was the softer rubber. Friend had 33's on his stock 4x4 1500 and he didn't have issues iirc.
