Which tire size is correct?
On my 97 1500 2WD, the sticker on the driver's door column calls out the tire size as 225/75R16, but the Dodge build sheet shows is was originally sold with 245/75R16s.
And to complicate things further, there are apparently three tire sizes that could go on the truck: 225s, 265s and 275s, all 75R16s. This is according to Tire Rack and Ebay's Tire Center.
So which one is correct, the door column, the build sheet or the tire seller?
Which size would you use?
Thanks!

Build sheet.
My door sticker says 245's, my build sheet says 265's. I have 265's on there, and the speedometer is pretty damn accurate. (according to the radar trailers the sheriff's department sets out for me.

I would use the 265s or the 275s. Wider tires = better traction patch = better driving. My durango came from the factory with 265s and the sticker said 235 so I know your Ram would be able to fit at LEAST 265s.
I honestly would go with the biggest tire you feel comfortable putting on. I just got some 235/85R16 E Goodyear Wrangler Authority's and I love em, I just with they would have put on the right size tire that I asked for. Stupid walmart techs tried to tell me what wouldn't fit and then they took two hours to install and balance 4 tires. Ridiculous.

Fairly certain my door sticker says 225's, but i bought it off my dad who bought it new and it came with 265's, still even have the original spare underneath that is a 265.
265's are your best bet imo. Will give you the best ground clearance and look without sacrificing power due to (presumably) 3.55 gearing. Either tire size will work fine, though. About the biggest you could fit at stock height is 285, but those might rub (im sure someone here can say for sure) and will probably have you wanting steeper gearing.
Edit: You have a 2wd, 285s would be too big.
