Question Seatbelt light and maybe converter problems

Hi everyone,
I have a questions about my seatbelt light. I have a 99 Dodge Ram Sport quad cab 4x4 5.2L engine. Last night my seatbelt light came on and now it wont go off. This has happened before but it went off last time, any suggestions?
Oh while im here, I also had a question about catalytic converter. I've noticed a rotten egg smell when the engine gets hot sometimes and the check engine light came on about 3 weeks ago. Got it checked and it said the converter or O2 sensor as failing. Im thinking the converter but the light keeps going off and on so should I worry? I know nothing about cars so any help id appreciate it, thanks!

There is some wires that go to both sides of the seat belt, to indicate if it is buckled or not. Might have a frayed wire or some such going on there.

I am going to guess that the plenum has never been repaired on your truck? It's a common problem, ALL the 2nd gen gas engines will encounter it. There is a stickied thread at the top of this forum with a great deal of information on how to figger out if it is indeed a problem for you. Reason I suggest this is, blown plenum kills cats and O2 sensors.......

a bad o2 sensor will change the fuel settings and cause extra fuel to go through and get burned up by the cat, and give that nasty smell. hey you is right on, the plenum gasket failure will cook the o2 and cause that problem.

the seatbelt circuit is very simple and if it is gummed up than that can makes its stay on. just pop the cover off the reciever for the seatbelt and see what it looks like.
