how much of an increase are the 3/4ton larger piston calipers over my current setup? what kind of performance can one expect? are they 25%, 50%? better? anyone have a part no on those? and its a direct swap? same pads, fittings, etc?
Bleeding at the line means nothing. The piston "could very well be seized" , BUT, the slide pins being seized will cause the same exact problem. So whatever.

You said clogged hose. I was indicating there was fluiding flowing through the hose.

There was no grease on the pads. Pads were clean going on.

I might just swap out to the 3/4 ton caliper and call it a day. I figure between that and some steel lines, I should be better. So the 2500 is a direct swap? If so, it should be a simple swap.

Your pads and rotors aren't glazed are they?
If they are that COULD cause it.
Make sure your rear drums are adjusted and the shoes not glazed.

i'd hope new pads are not glazed. i didnt get a chance to check the backs last night - it rained all night. i'll make the adjustment today after work if the weather holds up. i think i'm all set. im going to simply grab a set of calipers off a 2500 if they, in fact, are a direct bolt on.

Are the 2500 calipers the dual piston calipers? I thought I read somewhere that the dual piston calipers from an 01 1500 will bolt on to. Did I miss read that?

No, the dual piston calipers are NOT a direct swap. The LD 3/4 ton calipers are single piston, only difference between those, and the 1/2 ton guys, is piston diameter.

Also, in 2000, or 2001, dodge went to dual piston calipers on the 1/2 tons as well, I do believe..... so, this swap won't work on the newer trucks.

Gotta have the Light Duty 3/4 ton calipers. I think they were only offered from 94-95.... (although, my HD 96 has the light duty calipers..... nice huh?)
