That's a morse style chain. What they came with stock, and whoever told you that a double roller will decrease gas mileage was blowing sunshine up your skirt.

I am getting ready to do my timing chain also. Is it recommended to add a tensioner also? For those of you that have added the tensioner, how does it mount?

Thanks

It might also help if you say you are part of a Mopar Club to get a discount.

This is such a small town and small dealership. They probably haven't sold any performance parts. All farm trucks and trucks for people that drives trucks instead of cars (west Texas - everyone's gotta have a truck!)

I gave them the part numbers that I have seen posted here on DF a number of times, so I know the number has to be correct. On the chain, she could not verify that it was double roller. Since she couldn't - I wouldn't. Didn't wnt to prepay for special order, and it not be waht I wanted. Then I had to explain to her what double roller meant. Nearest other dealers are 60 miles west or 85 miles east. Paying shipping is cheaper! Downside of small town I suppose - choices are minimal.

Thank goodness for all of you guys posting info> Helps me know what to look for and how to do it.

Pre pay! special order!, holy crap, My dealer is 20 min away as well, I also live in a little rural town. I guess I have been dealing with them for so long (10 years) they just order it for me know lol. Next time you are in the dealers town stop in and see the parts guys to get to know them (you own a 2nd gen they should be your best freind lol). This is were U.S and Canada diff big time, what is easy for you to get on the net for parts is not so easy for us, duty, shipping, and customs takes any and all saving away.
