Default Need some suggestions ???

Hey guys I am a wounded warrior and developed a severe speech problem while in Iraq. As you can imagine it's very hard to get a good job. I have been wanting to lift my truck for so long. Do you guys know of any companies who would help me out with getting my lift, tires, and rims ?

In these economic times, I think you are going to have a hard time finding anyone willing to mod your truck..... I know here in Michigan, "Work First" has a program to help with vehicle repairs, so that you can get a job.... might be something to look into. (I don't think a lift will count though... tires might. )

285's are roughly 33"... if you have 3.55 gears in the diffs now..... you will REALLY like it. Might even get BETTER gas mileage.... especially if most of your driving is around town.

They said it would get better mileage with 4.56 and 35's but I didn't know if the 285's being smaller would actually hurt it ? Would I have to correct the speedo ?

If you want your speedometer to read accurately you will have to correct it. The 4.56's will make your engine spin more RPM's at the same speed. In town where you aren't cruising at a higher rate of speed it will help MPG due to being much easier to get the vehicle moving.

RPM will be about 4-500 higher than previously. Maybe.... (could be less.)

Correcting the speedo will be easy, just change the driven gear in the speed sensor on the trans. Costs about 20-30 bucks.
