I bought a new battery since mine went bad the other day but the nut and bolt that hold the ends onto the battery cable and rusted on really bad.I did spry them for the last 3 days with pb blaster and wd 40 they wont break free.what would be a good way to break the rust free of get these rusted nut and bolts off so I can put my new battery on?
ps: the battery has been in there since 2000 so the nut and bolt are rusted real bad.

Cut all corroded wires out and strip enough to put on new clamps.
hint: be smart and buy anti-corrosion pads (red and black) to put on your new battery, as well as some anti-corrosion red-spray. Red spray goes clear re-apply. Perfect clamps and battery terminal connections all the time.
hey guys I typed that wrong sorry about that what I meant to say is the nut and bolt that holds the battery cables to the battery are rusted on.now If i use a hack saw and cut the ends off the nut will still be on the bolt so how the heck can I get these things off?
I would just cut them off, personally, and get new clamps. That is what I did, as mine wore out so bad I broke the bolts tightening them down one day. I cut them off as close to the old clamps as I could, and then crunched on some of those "quick release" ones from Advance Auto.
