Default swapping an 01 46re for a 96 46re trans help

Hi all, I've tried searching and read MonteC's sticky,(Did I miss Something?)...I'm trying to find info on putting a 46re from an 01 Ram 1500 4x4 into my 96 Ram 2500 4x4. I realize I need to get this.. http://www.sonnax.com/product-lines/...ion/parts/1701 ...what else would I need to do? Thanks in advance & I apologize if my search techniques suck!

Welcome to DF.

First, before anything else, please read this:

I will move this to the 2nd Gen section for ya.

The wiring will be very different. It will require quite a bit of trial and error splicing and electrical/wiring troubleshooting.

just go to www.wittrans.com and get the proper electrical parts for your year transmission and put them into the 01 transmission and you should be good to go. i have a 98 trans in my 01 and i dont have overdrive due to the fact of the wiring being a bit different between those couple years.
