I'm almost certain that this is the problem after doing more research... Its exactly where the noise is. I wanna read your DIY

I just got done doing a fluid change about 2 months ago, did a full pan cleaning and filter change. there was a normal amount of sediment I would say, I Imagine that it would make sense to drop it again.

Put the truck on jack stands and have someone drive it while you listen.

Tranny's seem to go about every 70K if you tow in OD or go up hills in OD.

My 1996 had the tranny replaced at 72K by the PO (Paperwork was present). Then at 98K I needed another torque converter (covered by warranty of the new tranny 36K/36 mos). Then at 144K miles, the tranny was done again.

I also had the Mopar performance tune, which i heard was not good for towing. ALso, i didn't know about how towing 2000 lbs in OD would be detrimental to your tranny. Plus it had 33s.

Now I have a pretty much stock 2001 and I baby it. The only things I needed to replace were:
1. Transfer case: Cracked for some reason. Covered under warranty (2010)
2. Power steering pump: Blew up for some reason. covered under warranty (2009)
3. Rear Posi: Backlash was messed up. Covered under warranty (2 months ago)

I am actually hoping the tranny grenades (Because I want a PATC), but am not deliberately trying to cause damage. The warranty can take a decent chunk off the price off the PATC tranny.
