^Contact the Stealership my ***.
I highly doubt you'd get any useful advice regarding that topic.
You might PM HammerZ71, he currently has a 2004 1500 and used to have a 98 1500, he might know.

OK that is a 03 up AAM 91/4 2500 front diff air locker. 33 spline to our 31. It will not fit a dodge rear 91/4 diff in any way. If it did fit the dodge 91/4 believe me ARB would have it listed.

Default Response from ARB and East Coast Gear Supply about 9.25

For the heck of it I emailed them to ask the question. I realize I'm coming in way late on this bountiful knowledge.

From East Coast Gear Supply:

No , ARB has never produced a locker for C9.25 I believe dimensionally the
locker would work but there would be no way to put in the C-clips.
My response:

Thanks for the confirmation that they are both very different diffs. As a suggestion, probably good to modify the listing on East Coast Supply to more accurately reflect this:

Instead of:
ARB® Dodge/Chrysler 9.25" Air Locker - ARB #RD51 Diff Locker 33 Spline (All)

Change it to:
ARB® Dodge/AAM 9.25" Air Locker - ARB #RD51 Diff Locker 33 Spline (All)
East Coast final reply:

That is a good suggestion, I will make the change and put a note does not fit rear c-clip applications.

ARB Response:

They are not the same. The AAM front is a full float diff, 33 spline. The Corp 9.25 is a C Clip, 31 spline. Hole don’t even match up on the ring gear. Nothing about them is interchangeable.

You’re going to have to hang in there for a rear diff for the Dodge. We’ve got it on the radar but nothing in the works just yet.
So merc225hp is a boss:

Back to the OP. I would gather that feedback on the LSD will be highly relative to the driver's usage. Standard street driving and weather conditions, you'd want the LSD. It's not a bad unit unless you beat it up doing donuts or unreasonable offroading. There have been people stating blown up LSDs for minor things and then the other spectrum of hitting "hard" and no damage whatsoever. Sorry that the thread went down a slightly different path, however, even if it was concluded that the LSD was in general to be crappy, then one would ask....what are the options forward? Again....driver application and so ball in your court.

I learned something fo sho.
