I'm running magnaflow and it's a good deep sound. It's loud but not drown out the radio loud, especially if the windows are up. But it does turn heads outside the truck.

I ran a flowmaster super 44 on my 01 1500. Just dumped it out the side in front of the rear tire. Was very very loud but had a really nice deep sound to it. Thats what i plan on doing with my next check.

A lot louder than what by your description states you want it to be. Get a 60 series muffler . Thats the one that comes with a Flowmaster American Thunder cat back system comes with. Very nice sound and only loud when you want it to be.
