Default Transmission combatibility

I pulled a transmission out of a 96 1500 4x4 club cab w a 5.2L. I have a guy looking for a replacement transmission for his 95 2500 4x4 with the 46RH

Stupid me didn't check the model type before dropping it off for storage at the in laws garage that is over 1 hr away.

From what I can tell the 96 1500 had the 46RE and not the RH that came in the 95 2500 series. Can anyone verify my facts before I drive 2hrs just to look at the stamp. Of course one would hope the father in law could just look at it to confirm but he just can't seem to find it....... Arggggg

96 is RE, 95 is RH. They are not interchangeable.
