Default Couple things I've noticed lately with my truck

#1 every once in a while when i crank the truck up in the morning i hear what sounds like water gurgling behind the dash for about 3-5 seconds. i'd imagine it has something to do with the heater core. is it something that i need to check or keep an eye out for something?

#2 ever since i did the plenum and tune up with the 180 stat, my temp doesn't go much over 140-150 i'd say. is that normal and ok?

#3 on a long trip yesterday (mostly interstate) a couple of times my seat belt light came on and my seat belt locked up. i couldn't get any slack out of it until i stopped and opened the door.

but i did notice that the mpg was a lot better on the interstate! 215 miles and im sitting on a half tank. im lucky to get 250 out of a tank around town

1. Need to thoroughly burp your cooling system. Got an air pocket in there yet.

2. Replace the stat. It isn't working right.

3. Check the seatbelt switch and connectors. (in the buckle portion of the seat belt I think.

1. i was told that if air is in there that it could possibly be a head gasket leak? any truth to that?

2. like replace it completely, or just mess around with it?

3. hmmmm, got any links or tips on how to check the buckle?

You just did the intake right? Getting all the air out of these is a major friggin exercise..... Try and burp it again, and see if you can't get some more air out.

Replace it completely. You are running 40 degrees or so cooler than what you should be, stat isn't working as it should.

I think there is just the connector at the buckle side under the seat, switch is internal to the buckle, and if it fails, I think you need to replace the buckle.......

More like the radiator probably has to be topped off than air burped.

Have you cracked open the radiator to see where the coolant level is?

#1 Already covered by the other 2 members of the troll patrol.

#2 I'd replace the t-stat with a stock 195. You are just wasting gas without a tune. And test it before you install it. Use a Stant super stat.

#3 If you look for the thread with the guy (can't remember name) that just installed power door locks and windows in his truck, he had the same seat belt problem.

levels are good. 2 times when i've topped it off i let it run and there was still air bubbles in it.

so a 180 t-stat is ideal with a tuner? thats in the future plans but i don't wanna keep changing back and forth

That's about where my gauge sits with a 180* stat. I drove around with my scanner hooked up for a while and it showed temps were right.
