NFUS 34 Gallon Fuel Tank
Ok, that's what I wanted to know. What I was questioning was you saying you have the larger tank, without specifying 34 or 35. The 34 is molded differently than the 35. So that's why I asked. Thanks for the info.

Now, the only other problem might be, I don't think pavement_hater can just simply install the 34 gallon tank, without also replacing the fuel pump. Of course, if that got ruined too when the tank fell out, I guess that's would not be any kind of issue.

I'm pretty sure the front strap broke first as it looked the worst when I was under the truck a few days ago causing the rear strap to also fail. The tank drug the ground before I got stopped and put a few small holes in the bottom. It also tweaked the fuel connection on the top of the tank so I was going to replace everything. I can find replacement is local bone yards for anywhere from $75-$125 depending on the yard and size of tank. I would buy a new fuel pump assembly even if the replacement comes with it. I don't want to have to drop the tank again anytime soon for a faulty pump/sending unit. Atleast my new straps are already on their way. Just sucks I couldn't have gotten em sooner and might have avoided the extra cost. But if its possible to upgrade it isn't a total loss since the upgrade would cost me as much as putting the stock size and I'll gain capacity. I just wanted to make sure its doable before I put money out for a tank I can't use.

Ok, I was backward and off by a few cross members.....LOL......But that's what you get when you thinkin 50 miles away and a long time ago. The filler goes to the rear and the short end goes to the front, but yea there is plenty of room. Still, why would anyone want to install a 35 gal tank when you can just get a 34 gal tank and it will bolt right in? Just seems dumb....IMHO

Also looks like I have some painting to do.......

Not a problem there bud, That is what I was saying. The 35 gallon tank is not going to install. The 34 might.

I'm pretty sure you have to change the pump if you change the size of the tank. Otherwise, why would there be a difference when asked at a parts store or online for that matter. A few months ago I helped someone on here get a new tank for there truck. And I'll be damned if I can find the thread and the website where he got it from. I do remember that he was very happy with the service from that website.

I'll keep looking if you want me to.

I said 35 earlier but after looking around and finding those other posts I see there was a 34 as was also stated by you guys. If the 34 will pretty much bolt right in I wouldn't even try for a 35. 1 gal less is certainly not going to kill me. My old fuel pump assembly looks a little wasted but even if it wasn't I would still buy new for the replacement since the current pump has 104k on it.

I am hoping that the tank wasn't full when it fell out! That would double the cost! Don't know an=bout anyone else, but I am going to go out and check my tank straps...

Sad fact is it was pretty much full. Looking back I prob should have put a ratchet strap around it temporarily until my straps came in and I could replace them as a safety. That or just not use the truck. So I'm also out somewhere around $80 in gas. Win some lose some. I was just pulling through a red light when it happened so I wasn't at an kind of real speed which is a good thing.

Definitely check them out. I would have never noticed them but I was under the truck a few days back running a new wire for my break controller when I saw they were pretty rusty and looking thin.
