Default Sprectre cold air intake help

probably a dumb question but...

I have a sprectre cold air intake that I can't get to seal up around the throttle body. I re-installed the factory rubber air cleaner gasket on it when I installed it. The instructions say nothing about reusing it, should I?

Yes, I installed the gasket, I just can't get the thing to sit right. I can tighten the clamp but it always seems to be a little loose no matter how I spin it.

Without the truck running, twist your throttle lever towards WOT and see if it hits the bottom of Spectre in any way. If it does, you can call them and they will send you a free upgraded intake. At that time you can ask about the tightening problem too I suppose.

I bought a new gasket, it fits much better and I believe it solved the problem. I'll check the throttle lever tomorrow too.

Thanks.

Check the throttle lever. BEcause spectre had a "recall" where they were replacing the boxes. Reason was that the throttle lever was getting BLOCKED, thus if you step on it, the throttle would not be wide open.

Basically it is making you drive at 3/4 throttle when you want to be wide open.

I would check it now. It takes 5 seconds.

The factory exhaust from the cat back is actually pretty good. Only restriction being the muffler.
The real restrictions in the exhaust are the y-pipe and cat.

It clears, about an 1/8" clearance.

Now if my sct tuner would get here and I could figure out what cat back to run.
