Default Intake Mod

I picked up this intake at the swap meet, when I took the bottom plate off, all of the runners are gone. Has anyone seen this before? Still usable? Or is this intake ready for the scrap yard?

BTW, are all 5.2 & 5.9 intakes the same?

I've seen it, that's probably the same manifold too. A member on Dakota-Durango did that and sold it a while ago I believe. Lemme see if I can find it.

There are a lot of guys here that know a hell of a lot more than I do, but I can't imagine that intake working as well as one with runners. The stock ones are typically cut down about 1.5" during a mod, and certainly not eliminated like that. Looks like a failed experiment to me.

Sorry, don't know about the 5.2/5.9 being the same or not.

Called the 'kegger mod'. Safe to use.

Allows it to flow freely and get better distribution to each cylinder.

On second look, that doesn't look right at all... what in the...?

The Kegger mod generally refers to removing a couple inches of runner length, not completely removing the runners.

And no it wasn't the same one I was thinking of.

The only time I would ever consider using one would be with a PD blower and even then I'm no so sure.

I can't help but think that the remaining runners are going to be WAY to short for use in a truck....... If you wanted to use the truck at the drag strip, I could almost see it... but, there are much better manifolds available for that particular application......

In short: I would find another manifold.

Find whoever sold you that at the meet and whack him over the head with it.
