Default Electrical upgrades?

I'm in a electrical class for college and I'm wondering what I could upgrade on my truck to get it to run or perform better, or just brighten up. I'm ganna run a dual battery and off road lights, that is bout all I can think of right now. Would a ignition upgrade be worth the money, any ideas would be great.

Look in the FAQ/DIY section. Theres a few different types of electronic upgrades/mods and such. Headlights, fog lites, led lights in dash, etc....

Lots of stuff in there, some may or may not be for your year truck though. So be careful.

There was also a thread about someone smoking (literally) their alternator. Don't overload anything. Seems like a great practical application for your class. Keep us posted. I am sure that you will be able to come up with some ideas that we would like to see.

(hickville - really?)

There's a Hicksville Indiana too......

An ignition upgrade isn't going to do you any good. You won't see a performance increase, no matter what you do. The stock ignition system is actually pretty good. Don't need anything meaner till you start getting rather weird with the engine internals.

I actually live in Black Earth WI lol but at school its always hickville because my high school was surrounded by corn and we always had a drive your tractor to school day and a certain section in the parking lock for the so called "tough trucks". In the winter we would try and climb the snowbanks until we got stuck and then at the end of the day hook chains to pull each other out haha... I'm looking around, for some cool ideas I'm sure my alternator is ganna hate me just had to replace my battery.

So I ran some stuff passed my teacher and he told me I had to fix all my wiring hack jobs before I started doing stuff. So for starters I got my 3rd brake light fixed and got the connectors and wires for my license plate lights and next week I get to connect and heat shrink all my hacked wires then I get to do dual battery and 2nd pair of hella 500. What a great teacher right lol.
