Default what spark plugs should I get?

Im going to be tuning up my truck this weekend.but my truck says on the sticker to use champion rc12lc4 plugs those are the cheap ones for a buck each ,im sure they would be ok but i maybe want a better plug. Some mechanic told me to buy those as the truck will run better cause thats what the truck calls for and not to use platinum or double platinum cause my truck wont run as good is that even true?If thats true then why would they even sell those for my truck?but anyway I want to get a plug that would make my truck runa little better.I see in walmart they have bosh plugs for my truck double platinum.and the only other stores here are auto zone and advanced isnt there a better plug for my truck then just the cheap ones?what about Pulstar plugs i hear those are good but can find anyone who sells them.any info will help i know theres a chart on this site someplace for the plugs but i cant find it.thanks

Trick plugs are crap. Unless your engine is spec'd for platinum plugs I wouldn't bother using them, as it's a waste of money. Use what the truck came with when it was born. If you have hotter heads, bigger cam, custom computer tune (in other words, if the engine has been reworked for more power) then you might consider a hotter plug. Bosch plugs are known to cause issues in lots of domestic engines. I just put new Champions in my truck last night. Runs great.

You could also look in the FAQ/DIY at the spark plug Poll thread. For different opinions.

"what spark plugs should I get?"

I'd just go with the plain ol' Champion Copper Plus type 71's that the sticker recommends. In my opinion, they're spark-tastic.
