Alrighty Gents,

I'm back from my travels (and suffered a cracked dash this weekend, grrrr), and have had an opportunity to tally up the score...

We've had a total of 16 contributors, and racked up an impressive collection for Vdub.. I'm beside myself right now, from seeing folks join up for a worthy reason and putting themselves out there- and all for a guy who we don't really know in person, but instead just from an internet forum... To me, it demonstrates the character of you guys in person is represented well by your actions here..

If I ever get the chance, it would be an honor to throw down a few beers with each of you. Thank you.. Seriously, thank you.

we've collected (drum roll) $438.67.. PayPal charged us $1.33 for processing fees, which isn't too bad.. Zman and I tossed some $$ for flowers from the group, and if you add that in it's considerably more..

I think I will wait until Wednesday or so before sending the $$ to Vdub, in hopes there are a few stragglers around.. In the meantime, and if anyone can help:

I need to locate a way to transfer the $$.. I could write a check and send it via snail mail, or I could attempt to contact Gary directly and either wire or bank transfer- or even use paypal once again to move the money.. question I have is this: has anyone reading this ever had financial transaction with Vdub for something like parts or such? If so, did you by chance use a paypal account?

Thanks once again fellas.. this is just a drop in the bucket, but it's HUGE on a human level that you guys have made this possible.

What an amazing thing y'all have done here. It is appreciated more than you can imagine. Many, many, many thanks.

Gary has asked that donations be made in Gabriel's name to the Second Chance Animal Sanctuary in Norman, Oklahoma.
Details and more info are posted here (top of page 2): http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/vie...er=asc&start=0

Also, info here on the sanctuary:

I could be wrong, but I don't think so. His last post was on the 9th.
