Default Plenum plate & Kegger mod questions

I recently joined this forum and have been reading up on the plenum plate fix and the kegger mod.I checked my plenum today.I'm a big guy so I had a hard time getting in there and looking down the TB.But there is a very thin layer of sludge on the plate.does that mean its leaking? I checked my spark plugs, cat, the only symptom I have is bad gas milage.I have not calculated it yet but Im guessing around 10mpg.I am planning on doing the plenum plate anyway but i am just curious. As far as the kegger mod, I was looking around on *********.com and read that someone there filled the plenum with epoxy after cutting the tubes.Has anyone here done that.If so how has it helped?

If you have sludge in there, yep. Plenum gasket is blown. I picked up plate on e-bay for $49 bucks. Never heard of anyone filling with epoxy so I don't know anything about that. Only been here on DF for a couple months though. I would be concerned of possibility of epoxy deteriorating and falling loose, and ending up ion combustion chamber.

Plenum is more than likely blown. Jury is still out on filling part of the plenum with epoxy. I think there are some dyno charts on Huges Engines website with some comparisons.
