Unhappy *Help* knocking and failure to shift!

I just purchased a used, one owner 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9l 4x4. When I initially start the truck and right before it shifts into 2nd gear, it does a knocking rattling sound and it wont shift into gear unless i let off the gas, it doesnt do it as much when the truck is still cold or the o/d is off.

Ive been told it is some kinda sensor. but I dont know, havent ran codes yet...

Also, unrelated, the oil pressure gage drops to 0 when i come to a stop. but then shoots back up to normal when i take off. somethings itll drop even when driving. Sensor as well??? which one?

I would appreciate the help...

If the CEL is on, need to know what the codes are.

For the oil pressure, check your oil level..... sounds like you are low.

For the tranny, it's most likely the Governor pressure switch and Governor solenoid that needs replace.

You can try this to read the code's yourself. But most likely won't work on a 98.
