Once again, as the owner of a Ram 2500 van, I'm puzzled about what all the fuss is about the difficulty of accessing the distributor .... ?

(Brian, I tried not to say that, but as you can see, I failed)

The dealer wanted to charge me $200 for plugs and wires, not even including the cap and rotor or a TB cleaning. It was like $330 for all that.

My mom had a 96 Ram van, never had any work done on it because of the dog house. No one would work on it except the dealership.
BTW, pictures? Hippie van or a work van?

Man, at the risk of getting banned, the dog house comes off in 30 seconds, and then the whole damn engine is sitting in your lap. I love working on this thing! (Oh well, I've enjoyed my time here ....)

Work van driven by an ex-hippie from another lifetime; pics? - just picture a a plain ol' white cargo van with barn door side doors and a little rust here and there, minus the "Maytag" sign on the side, and you've got it.

It's also got a bitchin' AM/FM/cassette radio that doesn't work, no air, no air bags, no front ABS, and no overdrive. She is swweeeeeeeeeet!! lol

But she's got a sweet-runnin' 318, and gits it done, so I love her despite all her shortcomings. Low property taxes, too!

those ram vans are ok to work on but if you ever have to do an engeine swap it can be a friggen nightmare compared to an engine swap on a truck. i pull the engine out of an 87b250 and it took me about a week to get it out and i needed a car hoist and engine hoist to get the engine out. my 91 took only about 1 hour to remove the engine and transmission and all that was needed to do so was just an engine hoist.

Oh hell yeah! Once the engine goes, she's going over the nearest cliff

Might get a Sprinter at that point; a nice Mercedes 5-cylinder turbo diesel might help me get over the loss of my 318.

Got it fixed. Took me 2 hours, but hey, it runs.
Went to AZ and got a new rotor, also re-routed the wires per the TSB.

I want to thank everyone for getting me cooled down last night and back to my senses too.

I love you guys.

glad to hear you got it fixed and running again. i am guessing this time you got the rotor to click on before you put it all back together.
