If your getting a ping from 93 I would suggest you use the whole tank and get gas from a different station.

Since ive tuned my truck with the sct Ive noticed the ping showing up if I use the cheaper mom and pop gas, but if I use exxon or shell gas theres no issue.

Not all gas stations sell the same octane also. Here in texas they dont sell 91 octane only 87, 89 ,93

So my gas could be causing the ping on the 93 tune? I will just stick with the 91 until I fix the plenum, o2, cat

you're asking for trouble of the expensive kind..

the SCT advances spark as the primary means of squeezing life out of these lethargic engines.. that can cause pinging on a less than healthy engine all by itself..

your plenum is in question.. that can cause pinging too..

you put the two together, you're GOING to ping..

you know what pre-detonation, aka pinging is, right? it is dangerous every time it happens..

gotcha... just pay attention to that pinging, and when you feel it- back out of it quick.. your rods, caps, and knuckle joints will be most appreciative.. not to mention your pistons.. holes in pistons are highly overrated..
