Default 102' Whip Tie Down

I just bought a 102' Whip CB antenna and I am going to be mounting it to the back driver side steak hole using the below mount.

http://www.walcottcb.com/firestik-mk...ath=28_353_433

Now what I would like to do is be able to tie it down to the cab using some thing like a gutter mount. (I know we don't have gutters, but some thing like that) Do any of you guys use a 102' Whip and tie it down to the cab?

Thanks guys.

102" =P

Most people put the whip right behind the cab and tie the top of whip to the back of the box by the taillight. Just buy some 5-6 foot whip and not have to worry about tiein it down. I got dual 5ft whips.

I think going and using a 102" whip is top notch!! Forget these negative nancys!!

I can't say I have specific experience, but this is a route I've been wanting to do. My mount location was going to be dead center of the vehicle at the front of the bed. I know you are going behind driver.

To tie down, I was considering front or rear bumper. For you, I'd think...going passenger front bumper. Going rear, keep it driver side.

Again, I haven't gotten down this path yet, but I support you. Please come back to convey pictures, findings, etc.

102" whip is by far the best CB antenna I have ever had. Range and reception was awsome. I was told that I would not get weather stations, they do and they were clearer, only weird thing was that they were all on channel off. Weather channel 4 was now weather channel 5 ect. It was strange but worked great.

I have had about 5 antennas, one a k30, another k40 (on truck now) and the rest were off brands. I only run the K40 now as the whip was a little annoying. If I go on a long trip I will use the whip again.

mines mounted at the back of the bed on the passenger side, I put a peice of a 40lb braided fishing line, fashioned a slipknot and tied the other end to a screw on a trim piece above the door weather seal

That sounds like some thing I could do.

Do you have any pictures?
