Default Wheel Alignment numbers

So i finally got around to getting the front end aligned. I took off the 35" mud tires and put on 265/75. The Toe was off quite a bit that they were able to adjust and just like all the other threads said i need the adjustable or offset ball joints to adjust the camber/caster. They gave me the print out and from what it shows I am barely off the "spec" and I dont see $250 worth in upper ball joints as worth 0.01 degrees.

Camber -0.3 and -0.4 with "spec" being -0.3 to 0.8
caster +2.2 and +2.4 with "spec" being 2.4 to 4.4

From what i read in the other threads spec isnt necessarly right for our trucks expecially with oversize tires and a lift. I also saw a caster of 2 - 5 degrees is fine and the camber should be very close to 0.

My question is with the Camber where it is at, is it even worth me spending the money to get the camber closer to zero?

Thanks guys!

kinda off topic, but did going down in tire size help with "get up and go" as well as mpg? i also have 35's and i am thinking about going down to factory 275/70 or 295/70.

I wouldn't bother trying to correct the camber. Only way to do that is ball joints... Unless yours are already in need of replacement, Don't worry about it.

Thanks heyyou, my ball joints are almost new, replaced by po so exactly what i thought.

krichard- i did notice some improvement because my tires weighed a lot less, but my truck was in pretty rough shape when i got it.

- blown plenum
-clogged 02 and cat
- rear end was shot
- shocks where shot
- wires where held together with duck tape
- belt tensioner and idle arm where shot
- leaking cover gasket and pcv valve
- pressure selonoid.

Tough to narrow down what did what as far as improvements go.

I was told my camber was too negative too.
Ball joints look fine to me.
Then I looked in my FSM and remembered that the camber isn't adjustable. Therefore the shop is full of crap.
I am ranting again....

The axle itself will bow a little over time or hitting something hard. Thats how your camber is off.

Jack it up in the center of the axle, and let it sit that way for five years to bow it back?

Jacked it up this morning, told the neighbor I would be back in 2016 to pick it up.
