4th gear in a durango should go well over 65 mph. The last gear is only overdrive. The rpm will be high but it should go over 65 no problem.

I would not pay 4k for a durango with known tranny problems.

ok thanks for all the responses. it seems like its not really worth the time. it may have low mileage if it was an elderly person but the description says it has 2 12"subs so i dont think thats the case.

we just my parents durango for 1800 dollars it had 89k miles on it and it had a bad tranny

but for it to only have 51k will a bad tranny it must of been a super hard 51k

Yeah that seems really sketchy.
Too have that bad of a trans problem so early in it's life [51k miles], Somethings not matching up. Just keep looking, Durangos can be nice vehicles!

could just be a synchronizer in the tranny.. causing it not to shift past 4th gear.

No synchros in an auto trans.
