dodge ram conversion
Eh, could be worse, I have 0% of my original dash, even the lower dash is fubar'd (damn girls and their insatiable need to put their feet up on the dash). speaking of swapping dashboard though, anyone know how that one guy ended up with his 3rd gen dash swap?
My lower half is jacked up too.
The dude with the 3rd gen dash had to convert, cuz he was swapping a 5.7 hemi/545rfe into his 2nd gen, along with all the wiring, and therefore the gauges and switches etc...

wow those the only 2 94-97 dashes i have ever seen cracked and broken. and here i thought i never had to worry cause i have a 97. not a crack in it. (knock on wood) i dont wanna replace it. but we will see how it holds up when i replace my heater core here in the next month. i had to get a little POS s10 for better gas mileage and so i could tear into the dodge. heater core, plenum, valve seals, timing chain, the whole nine yards. should be fun oh and t case
I work at a scrap yard and have NEVER seen a 2nd gen ram come in that didn't have a cracked dash. Not one, either new or older style. A 96 came in the other day, and I mashed down on the dash to see how brittle it was. I honestly think a Dorito would have offered more resistance. Lol. Maybe its the weather here in MS, but they all seem to crack here, sooner or later. I looked inside an early 3rd gen the other day that I saw for sale, and it was cracked too.

Sort of an all-in-one repair.......
