Default Transfer case parts can't figure out where they go

I am rebuilding a np231 eastcoastgear had to send me two different kits since I apparently had half of the case as the early style case and the other half was a newer style it's been a nightmare and I wanted to make sure since there was no shift bushings in the case. If I need them? ...and the
only loose parts on my work bench were these two washers I can't for the life of me remember if they were for the transfer case... the only thing i can think of perhaps is for the shift rod

Holy rust^

I will take more pictures tommorow

I have no idea, but my first thought was to go check out the FSM. Here is a link to the thread (DIY/FAQ Section) where you can download at your leisure.

https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...e-manuals.html

Here is the starting page for the 231 (from 2001 manual).

Its the above reference that I was trying to say that I'm not sure the page answers the question (applicability).

ive looked at the sevice manual for the 231 ive watched videos of assembly on you tube there are some good videos there looked online at np231 individual parts at all the major drivetrain people. looked at other new process transfer case to see if there was anything similar i think The washer with the bigger inner diamter is to keep the spring from compressing in more then one axis since the shift shaft will fit threw it the washer on the left will not fit the shaft. At first i thought that it was a valve spring washer since it tapers on the other side

Maybe this will help. Save the image to your puter and open it, you should be able to enlarge it.
