recently there has been a ticking sound coming from then engine. I don't always hear it but you hear it once ever other second at idle and as the rpm's go up you here the ticking increasing. I was told that the heads aren't getting enough oil but oil pressure is good and dipstick reading is fine. Anyone ever had this problem?

 

How many miles on the truck?

 

There is only 70k miles on the truck. Sometimes it sounds like a ticking sound, other times a pinging, and then today it sounded like a chirping sound?

 

I would take a long look at the belt and pulleys..... wonder if you just got something in there?

 

I would put a stethescope on it after checkingbelt and pulleys if you do not find anything. See if you can isolate where the ticking is coming from.
