Default 97 slips in overdrive

Just happened a couple of days ago. I was at about 65 mph when I noticed the engine wind up, and then back down to normal. It did this a couple of times, and only for a second. I havent noticed this in any other gear. Its a 97 1500 318 with 125,00 miles. Fluid level is good and fluid looks good. Any ideas? Thanks for any help.

Go to the FAQ/DIY section and download the factory service manual. I think you may need to adjust bands. Procedure is pretty well detailed there. Make sure you have a torque wrench (inch pounds). If trans pan does not have a plug, I would suggest adding one. Use only ATF +4 fluid. Front band can be adjusted from outside tranny, but rear band requires dropping pan.

Wonder if it is just engaging/disengaging TCC? Check throttle position sensor as well. (first...)
