2wd steering upgrade?
this is a steering conversion I made to my truck. can't post step by step because it was 9 months ago. but here are some pics from the end result. I used a 2002 2wd rack & pinion and tie rods. made a suport for the steering shaft with a bearing, found in many agricultural implements. made a bracket from 2 pieces of 1/2 x 3inches flat steel to atach the r&p to the cross member, and used on the return line hose the conector for the 3rd gen.http://s1142.photobucket.com/albums/...-28-03_368.jpg http://s1142.photobucket.com/albums/...56.jpg5119.jpg

the steering shaft has an extra u-joint because the stock one had to be cut from the gear box end, and attached another from a old celebrity (only one available ), just needed to enlarge the hole with a burr. and the other pic is how the the bracket attaches to the framehttp://s1142.photobucket.com/albums/n617/generalheh/?action=view¤t=2011-11-10_16-55-20_794.jpg http://s1142.photobucket.com/albums/...-56-01_888.jpg
