Default transmission build parts info

hey guys im going to be having my transmission rebuilt and i have a question..

what are some parts you guys would suggest. from past posts i know of the sonnax sure cure kit, and the trans go shift kit.

which would you go with, and why?

also, what tq. converter? i saw on summit, hughes has a 1800 stall performance towing converter would this be suitable for me for plowing purposes?

i already know i have to get a new gov. pressure solenoid and switch, as well as the o/d and lock up solenoid due to my truck being an 01, and the trans being a 98.

if there are any other parts you may want to suggest or have any suggestions about parts throw them at me!

oh and i did search, but nothing really came up that i was looking for. i have taken a look at montec's thread and im not sure about what im reading for a parts list either so if someone could explain all that to me it would be great!

PM me your email address, I can send you an "annotated" list of parts that montec suggested for a member that regularly towed a 7k pound trailer. Prices may be a bit out of date, and pay attention to part numbers, and model years.

is this the list that was mentioned?

Dave, this is what i reccommend. Plug these numbers into WITTRANS's website.

22002E
12010J OR 12010C depending on year of your truck
B22022A
22034A
22046C
36066 replace other bushings as needed.
22119EHP
22139E
22582E
22584C
S22741NCK
D12415B OR C depending on year
U12927
A12432BK
A22912 use the seal that comes in the overhaul kit, the seal that superior supplies does not install very well.
S22916-2

Some common hard parts that you may or may not need, depending on what you find on tear down. This is just a short list because hard part damage veries from unit to unit, you might get lucky and not have any damage.
D22634C
D12220
A22654A
A12650

Also for the extra capacity drums you will need to do some measuring for clutch clearances and order what you need separetly from WIT, they have listings for the different thickness pressure plates. Also if you plan on upgrading the intermediate apply lever 4.2 will do just fine. Put a deep pan on it (dont forget the filter adapter), big cooler with fan if possible. Talk with precision about their RV converters with the billet back.

That should do you nicely.

Z i have a trans shop here in rochester that has been in business over 30 years, and have already talked to them and are going to allow me to bring in my own parts for them. ill give russells a call monday to see what they have to say. id rather drive 2 miles than 42 miles but if russells offers a better price then ill probly go with them!

I know distance is a factor, but as you can see, we are talking over 40 years. And a 3 year warranty, as long as you have proof the lines and radiator cooler are flushed or are replaced with new.

Damn, there goes some more money out of the zman fund! LOL
