Default cab lights

I have a 99 ram ext cab and I wanna put cab lights on it and I know there's a write up in the DIYs but has anyone done it to an ext cab? Is it pretty much same process? Do I have to take anything off in the back for headliner to come out?

From what I can tell in my truck all you would need to do is remove some more plastic. Just enough to get the headliner down. When its down its all the same thing, Just some advice though. Use relays on this project. Do NOT connect dirrectly to the switch. IMHO this is very dangerous to do because our switches are already weak as it is. Putting more strain on them doesnt help.

I did clearance lights on mine, there's a template stamped into the roof you can use. I ended up running my own wire/switch because i'm not the best at reading a wiring diagram to wire the light to show up with my running lights. (there is a strange connector hanging out of my A pillar on both sides thats always hot when the trucks on, so I used that as power along with inline fuse.

+1 on the relay idea. Control to relay can come off headlight switch so those lights are only on with park or head lights.

I have the complete setup out of my 98. If anyone is interested. Lights, clips for harness and complete wire harness.

Right, Led lights. They only pull ~.1 of a amp. Not enough to harm the switch. Regular lights will pull more and will harm, And IMHO leds or not I would rather be safe than sorry. 6$ more and a little more wiring for some more peace of mind? Hell yea im gonna do that.
