If it happened after a heavy rain and you see it coming from the front area I would guess maybe a bad windshield seal or maybe leaking around the door seal and running down. Just a couple of guesses to check out. Take it to a car wash, may be able to use a garden hose also and spray high pressure water at those areas and see if you can duplicate the rain leak. Should tell you where it is coming from.
