Wiring diagrams are usually a good place to start. That's where I found it.

Ah. I did look at the wiring diagrams, at the being of the section, and got really confused.

I searched and now I am resurrecting! I have same issue, just purchased the truck, heated/electric mirrors are intact. Heat button lights up when pressed don't know if it's actually warming mirrors, but the mirror controller does nothing. I pulled the door panel and they are plugged in. The power windows/door locks work great; no burned fuses I could find. I am at a loss...any help is greatly appreciated.

Let me know if you find a solution. Mine have since quit working too.

Make sure you are getting power to the switch.

*bump*

my damn mirrors only work in 1 direction

both sides will turn inward towards the cab, but wont respond to any other direction.

so for the passenger mirror, that is left on the stick, and on the driver mirror that is right on the stick.. they don't respond to up or down, or the outward direction... heat works fine though, and turning inward works fine.

indeed. played with it last night and found that if I push on the switch while moving the stick in a direction, they work in all directions! but I have to push in on the damn thing for it to work right...so new control switch oughta fix it right up

That would be the 2001 service manual. Don't think we have 2002....
