Hey since your in Norcal, I'm thinking you should come on over after
X-Mas and help me with my Plenum repair so I don't go though this learning curve again.

Ain't it funny that lately we spend an inordinate amount of time talking about five dollar parts? I mean, some guy says "my transmission blew its guts out!" and we say, "Yeah, so? Spend a few grand at PATC and get happy". But some other guy says, "I got a thermostat question" and we go on for days like it's quantum freakin' physics.

I'm just groovin' on it. When the topic turns to windshield wiper blades I swear I'm gonna get my nut.

So I had my wife take her car to the local Goodyear shop yesterday to have the oil changed (I'm too busy working on my Ram to do it myself). Of course they rotate the tires, check fluids, etc.

So she calls me (ready for this, unregistered?) and says that John told her the WIPER BLADES are starting to fall apart and wants to know what type I want to put on! (grinning....)

Go for the streamlined low resistance fellers, you can pick up a few tenths in the quarter with those.....

mmmmm....never thought about seeing what a Hyundai Sonata would do in the quarter......maybe it's time to find out - before AND after the wiper change...just before divorce papers are served....aah...maybe not.......

I had read that a 180 stat would operate properly but a 160 would cause the engine to run rich.... there was a thread on here where someone used a laptop to determine that the computer determined it was fully warmed up right around 170 degrees and as long as that was reached the air/fuel ratios were ok..... I ask because based on this I changed my stat to a 180 degree one and have had no codes related to running rich nor have my plugs shown any signs of this 10,000 miles later?
So do we have the actual temperature cutoff point where the computer determines "all is well" or is this being assumed? I have the torque app to read the computers information but its all still so new to me I honestly dont know what to look for...
my truck does seem to stay around 185/190 even with the 180 stat
