Is there any trick for tightening the adjusters back up? Or just tighten untilthey are snug again?

If you take the axles out... there is a special tool you can use to tighten the adjusters. The tool is pretty much a long rod with a big nut welded onto the end (dont know what size nut) to twist the adjusters. Thats the way I did it but my friend is a welder and made the tool

Oh do make sure you get the pinion preload and the correct ring gear backlash measurements when you reinstall the assembly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Otherwise you will have a clashing noise when you drive/ accelerate.

You're gonna need a dial indicator measuring tool. Im not sure if Autozone will let you rent one as they are pretty expensive
