Ran the truck and was having no problems with it. Stopped and shut it down for about ten min. Went to start it and it did but when I would hit the gas it backfires and stalls. It will idle no problem but as soon as you put it in gear and hit the gas that's when it back fires and stalls. I had it towed home unpluged the pre 02 sensor and no help. Checked down the carb and no oil there. Now I'm thinking crank sensor? Any help would be great and thank you very much.
The manuals will tell you how to check all the sensors. All but the crank sensor are fairly easy to check. I'd still unscrew the o2 first though, just to eliminate a clogged cat.
Sry NEWMAN1367 I looked at your post too fast, it does die when I hit the gas when it's in park. But idles fine and won't shut down unless I hit the gas. Going to take out the o2 sensor right now.
Ok I started it first just to see what would happen. Well it runs fine and I didn't take out the o2 sensor, Now I have to ask would the cat maybe cool down and allow the exhaust go through it then heat up and clog? It may sound dumb but I'm just asking. Thanks
